Central Intelligence Meets Distributed Intelligence

The surveillance story plot lines continue. New story lines are born. Distributed intelligence - the mind of man - is delightedly discovering the secrets of the centralized intelligence system, as its internal documents, its rules and manuals, go blowing in the wind. More and more is on public view.

"The documents show that law enforcement agents were also directed to hide the origins of the information.         (This also is what a police state looks like - when you go out of business to avoid problems.)

        12)  Punitive detention:

08/19/13 j cole     Greenwald Partner falsely detained as Terrorist: How to Create a Dictatorship  - Glenn Greenwald's partner was detained by the British for 9 hours on our behalf. He was held at the airport for as long as the law allowed.

Greenwald's partner then took on the British Government, with help from the Guardian legal team, who wrote this powerful first blow.  (A great read.) The law that the Brits used to detain him was used in violation of European law. Also in violation of encompassing British law. This new law threw away established rights in the name of fighting terrorism, and that word 'terrorism' can include whatever the government doesn't like, including investigatory journalism. Not a law that's true to its forebears.

        13)  Citizens cope with visibility:

        15)  The government is in a tizzy:
Perhaps everyone in the NSA is now covering their tails?  Not knowing what material Snowden copied, they may need to assume that he could have copied just about anything. Everything they've been doing now needs to have a good explanation, just in case someone looks at it closely.

The meta - meta-data of their centralized database has become decentralized. The data about the data about the data is in the world's hands now.
